I had someone who had double lines in their Signature in Outlook 2003. I found this fix from Microsoft that worked for me.

Visual Studio 2008 Lockup Editing .aspx Pages

I had a problem with Visual Studio 2008 locking up when I would open an .aspx page for editing. I run Process Explorer all the time, I want to know why the OS is slow, and it showed me that Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper in Office 2007 was running. After doing several searches over several days, I found this great link to fix the problem: Visual Studio 2008 Locks or Freezes in ASPX.

Changing Envelope Settings in Word 2003

I had some who had their envelope settings changed from auto and they were getting annoyed that they had to change them back to auto every time they wanted to print an envelope. I found this web page
http://www.gmayor.com/changing_envelope_layout.htm with good directions on how to fix this for Word 2003 and 2007. The setting for the envelope are stored in the normal.dot file and the web site includes directions and pictures of Word on how to fix the issue.

Windows Media Player having sound problems with wmv files.

I had downloaded a .wmv file and when I played the movie in Windows Media Player 11.� There was no sound.� I could play .wav files and hear the sound with out a problem.� After some searching on the Internet and trying things out, I found out that Windows Media Player was missing a program, called a codec, to play the sound.� I downloaded AC3 Filter from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AC3_Filter.htm.� After opening the zip’ed file and installing the softeware, I am now able to hear sound.

After about a year of thinking about it, I have finally started my own blog. Here is the start of a blog that hopefully will be full to others as I write up my comment about computer problems and how I have fixed them.
